The Charity:
The journey is some 21,000kms long and aims to raise £21,000 for
Children With AIDS Charity (CWAC). A substantial part of this figure has
already been pledged and all money raised will be going directly to the
charity's own Dippy Duck Appeal. This appeal aims to help fund holidays
for children and their families infected and affected by AIDS, allowing
them to escape from the stresses of their everyday lives. The bike ride
is a way of creating public awareness of this small charity and helping to
raise funds for it. Companies that have pledged money include Cameron
Mackintosh and Peters Fraser and Dunlop. I will be giving a series of talks
on my return in support of the charity. All donations go directly to the
CWAC.
